Join our effort to build a group home for The Arc Gloucester
Groundbreaking was held on March 27, 2018 in Glassboro for the group home for physically and mentally challenged adults that BLSJ Past President Winfield (Ziggy) Ziegenfuss’ is building for The Arc Gloucester.
The BLSJ Charitable Foundation is raising money through several fundraisers this year and we are also accepting donations on the project’s behalf. Ziggy donated the lot and all of his time and labor to construct the home at cost. It will provide a home for four consumers, one of which will be Ziggy’s son Gabriel.
The home is a four bedroom handicapped accessible ranch home around 2200 sf. It is required to have a fire sprinkler system, monitored fire alarm and generator backup. These special provisions along with other specifications from the New Jersey Department of Developmental Disabilities drive the cost above that which would be considered normal. Construction is expected to start in the next several weeks.
A number of subcontractors have offered donations to keep the cost down and Ziggy hopes hope to secure as much donated labor as possible.
